GhazalGravity is an initiative designed to present Ghazals in a contemporary manner. The popularity of ghazals has dropped because film music has overshadowed this genre. The promoter of GhazalGravity, Swaran Behl, believes that contemporary ghazals will resonate with audience across demographics and will help popularize the art again.
Swaran Behl has recorded a ghazal album (consisting of eight Mirza Ghalib Ghazals) all new compositions rendered in a contemporary style. This will be followed by an experimental ghazal album programmed in a very different format.
Ghazal/Shayari presentations in Tarranum pattern will also be launched in due course. Another interesting format planned is Mix & Match which will introduce ghazals in a duet mode involving Narration as well as Gaayaki.
One of the motivations driving GhazalGravity is to promote new talent and to organize live concerts pan India. If you would like to partner in this initiative, please feel free to send us a brief profile alongwith YouTube link(s) of
